This Cookie Policy explains how Aisembl Pty Ltd ("Aisembl", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the Aisembl platform at www.aisembl.com (the "Platform"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.

1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit. Cookies allow the website to recognise your browser and remember information about your visit. The Platform also uses similar technologies that store small pieces of information locally in your browser (such as localStorage and sessionStorage) — we use the term "cookies" loosely in this policy to cover both.

Cookies can be:

  • First-party — set by the website you are visiting (in our case, Aisembl).
  • Third-party — set by another service the website loads (for example, an analytics provider).
  • Session — cleared when you close your browser.
  • Persistent — kept until they expire or you delete them.

2. The cookies we use

We currently use only essential cookies and similar technologies. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. We do not currently use third-party analytics cookies. If we add optional cookies in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before they are set.

2.1 Essential cookies and similar technologies

Name / keyTypePurposeLifespan
Supabase auth sessionlocalStorage (set by Supabase JS client)Keeps you signed in and stores your authentication tokens. Without this, you would have to sign in on every page load.Until you sign out or the session expires.
sidebar_stateCookieRemembers whether the in-app sidebar is collapsed or expanded so the UI matches your last preference.7 days.
aisembl-cookie-consentlocalStorageRecords the choice you made on the cookie consent banner so we don't ask again on every page.Until you clear your browser storage or use the Manage cookie preferences link to revisit your choice.

These items are strictly necessary for the Platform to function and to remember the preferences you have explicitly set. Under Australian privacy law, we do not need your consent to set them, but we list them here for transparency.

2.2 Cookies we do not use today

We do not currently set:

  • Analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics or Hotjar).
  • Advertising cookies.
  • Social-media tracking cookies.

If we add optional cookies in the future (for example, product analytics during a beta period), the consent banner will be updated to offer you a real choice before those cookies are set, and this policy will be updated accordingly.

2.3 Cookies set by sub-processors

Some of the third-party services that power the Platform (see Section 5.2 of the Privacy Policy) may set their own cookies when you interact with them — for example, when our authentication provider redirects your browser. Where this happens, it is in support of the essential functions described above. The third party's own privacy and cookie notices apply to those cookies.

3. Managing your cookie preferences

There are three ways to manage cookies on the Platform:

  1. Cookie consent banner. When you first visit the Platform, a banner appears at the bottom of the page summarising this policy and asking for your acknowledgement. You can revisit your choice at any time by clicking "Manage cookie preferences" in the footer of the site, or with the button below.
  2. Your browser settings. Every major browser allows you to view, accept, block, or delete cookies. You can usually find the controls under "Privacy" or "Cookies" in your browser's settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent the Platform from working correctly — for example, you will not stay signed in.
  3. Clearing site data. You can clear all cookies and local-storage items the Platform has set by using your browser's "Clear site data" tool. This will sign you out and reset any preferences.

Your current cookie preference: No choice recorded — you will see the banner.

For more general guidance on cookies, see aboutcookies.org or allaboutcookies.org.

4. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no industry-standard interpretation of this signal, so the Platform does not respond to it. We rely on the controls described in Section 3 above instead.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, when we add or remove a sub-processor, or when we introduce optional cookies. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. If the changes affect the cookies we set on your device, we will surface the updated banner so you can review and re-confirm your choices.
